Wartime Secrets from the Family Home

Please join us on Tuesday 5th March to hear Tom McGrath talk about his new book. Tom has a lifetime association with Karori. He grew up here and after a period in which he lived in Mt Victoria and Aro Valley, moved back in 1986 and has been here ever since. He is married to author Julia Millen. After working full time as a polytechnic lecturer for many years, Tom has in his retirement, become a published author with two books to his name over the last 10 years. For this talk Tom will focus on three areas: How he got started on writing “Wartime Secrets” five years ago; “Wartime Secrets” as family and military history – with a few highlights from the book; and a few suggestions, from his own experience, on writing military history based on family members’ experiences.
